Background and Objective: Melanoma is recognized as one of the most aggressive types of human cancer, arising from the uncontrolled growth of melanocytes. Recent research has emphasized the crucial role of non-coding RNAs in the development and progression of cancer. In this study, we investigated the expression patterns of lncRNA MHENCR, miR-425 and PI3K in 17 melanoma samples. Methods: In present study, we used real-time PCR to assess the expression levels of lncRNA MHENCR, miR-425 and PI3K in the serum of Iranian melanoma patients. β-actin and GAPDH were both used as controls.
Results: Real-time PCR analysis showed that the expression of lncRNA MHENCR in the serum samples of melanoma patients was increased 1.23-fold compared to the control group (p < 0.05), while the expression of miR-425 and PI3K was decreased by 0.828-fold and 0.795-fold, respectively (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: Changes in the expression of MHENCR, miR-425 and PI3K highlight their key roles in melanoma-related regulatory pathways and their potential as diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic targets.
