Buerger's disease in Iran. J Adv Med Biomed Res 1995; 3 (11) :5-11

Buerger's disease or thromboangitis oblitrans is one of the relalively common vascular problem in Iran,which cause chronic arterial insuficiency ,specialy infrapopliteal.
This prospective study done on 50 cases which diagnosed as a case of Buerger's disease one were admitted in vascular surgery department of Taleghani hospital during 2.5 years from 1990 to 1993.
All of these patients were men and 98% were sigarette smoker ,24% were alcohol user and 22% opium user.
Hypertention was not reported as a familial problem or any history of Buerger's or diabetic were noted and FBS,serum cholestrole and triglyseride were normal.
Range of age in these patients was between 20-60 years and peak of the incidence was forth decade.
Migratory thrombophelebits in 34% of them,intermitent claudication in 100 %,toes ulear 68%,rubor 68%and pallor in 76%was present.DP and TP puls
